Crawling out of my plague cave like

Christ it’s been a bit longer than I anticipated it being and I’m sure the three people who actually read this that aren’t followbots are going to be mildly concerned I died or something.

Nope. I regret to inform you I am still alive, but other things got in the way, as is often the case, and I just haven’t had the time to devote myself to scheduling posts.

I also really, really don’t want to deal with a lot of what went on in 2007 and 2008 right now because they weren’t especially fun times and I know it’s not going to be fun reading for anyone involved. There’s only so much I can do to play the stuff in those posts for laughs and I need to be in a better headspace to tackle those before I can press on. I’m not going to put a timescale on this because I know it’s not feasible, so they’ll be done as and when some time between now and the heat death of the universe.

What I am doing instead, though, is End of Evangelion-ing the existing posts, to indulge 16 year old Autumn’s seemingly terminal weebanism. By which I mean I’m going back over the content, reworking the bits I don’t like, adding a little more context or flavour text, maybe an extra video or gif or two.

They won’t reappear at the top of the page here, because having them out of date order will infuriate me, but I’ll start with 1997 and work my way through chronologically. Since I was banging posts out like a machine a few years ago and at one point in about 2019 had over a year’s worth in the queue, that’s enough to keep me occupied for the foreseeable future.

I guess if you go back and read some of them and go “oh hey this has changed from the last time I read it” then you know it’s one I’ve done? There’s also that prequel series I promised to continue, a diary entry from 2002 I somehow missed documenting entirely, and probably a few more B-roll posts I can rustle up from somewhere.

When I eventually get to a point where I’m happy with this, then, hopefully, we can crack on with 2007 and 2008. I feel like graduation is a natural stopping point, so once I’m finished with the uni posts we’ll tie up the loose ends, what happened to various people, etc, there. Maybe move on to more general storytelling things since there’s some stuff I lost in the great Diaryland purge of 2003 that I know I documented but can’t be recovered. I definitely want to do something about the work experience placements I did after my GCSEs and various school trips.

I don’t know, we’ll figure it out when we get there. May I offer you a nice gif in this trying time?
